On a long surf trip with friends to Bali, we managed to take a break and squeezed in a dirt biking session with Bali Dirt Bikes, a company which offers various trails suitable for all level of riders. Most of us in the group were biking enthusiasts and we were all itching to experience dirt biking, we chose an intermediate course at Tabanan jungles of central Bali.
The tour guys came and picked our group from our address and drove us to their base which was about 90 minutes from Canggu. Once at the base, we were briefed about the bikes, the trail, and safety in general. A couple of experienced riders from the company were our guides. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of gears and accessories which were provided to us and the bikes were in great shape as well.
Once we hit the trail after a brief ride along the countryside of Tabanan, it was all uphill, downhill and pure offroading experience with our amazing Kawasaki KLX 150 4 stroke dirt bikes. Obviously, some of us did quite well and some faced difficulties during the trail which was fun to watch at times. Honestly, we all had our Oh Shit moments! riding these bikes at different levels including me after a couple of falls but it was totally worth it.
We also rented some custom built scramblers for a day surf trip on another occasion when the entire crew went surfing to Medawis, a 3-hour ride from Canggu, Bali. I and Kiran have always been fans of motorbiking and have had innumerable biking adventures from the Himalayas to down south in India, we continued our epic riding sessions in Bali as well with our surf trips.
